In the 1960s,
Los Angeles, sushi chefs from Japan came to The united States and made popular this typical dish from Japan .
Mashita Ichiro, of the Tokyo Kaikan restorant in Los Angeles invented a new roll of sushi called California Rolls, because Americans didn`t like raw fish, a particular ingredient of the tradiconal sushi, so Mashita created a sushi whit crab, avocado, and cucumbers.How ever the ingredients of the actually california rolls are diferents, for example American sushi chefs have created many variations with unique names such as Spider Roll, Philadelphia Roll, and Rainbow roll.
The california rolls that i like is the Philadelphia Roll, for make this unique dish you need:
- race
- vinegar
- salt
- sugar
- avocado
- raw fish like salmon
- algae Nori
- philadelphia cheese
then you have all this ingredients you can start make the sushi, First you have to make the rice: put it in a bowl, wash the rice until the water becomes transparent. then you have drain the rice , after that , cook the rice whit 900 cc of water. when this over, yo have to add salt, vinager and sugar to the rice and wait for the absortion of the condiments.
After the preparation of the rice , cut the avocado and the raw fish in stripes, take the Nori algae and put in a bamboo mat, then strech the rice all over the Nori, put the stripes of avocado and fish and roll whit the mat.
I really love this dish because i think its very healthy and its a very concentred flavour, and i love this kind of food. Also its the fovurite food of mi boyfriend , and always cook this lovely dish.
I dont like the sushi, you know but it looks very nice. I like this but not too much.
